Senior Men World Championships

To build a M2-/M4- and/or M2x Olympic boat to qualify for Tokyo 2020

Athletes are required to compete at

  • Cork Regatta
  • Irish Championships

Training has been organised in Limerick from 27/05/2017

Training will continue at the National Rowing Centre from 21/06/2017

Interested athletes have to notify Seán Casey by 15/05/2017

 

Senior Women World Cup II

To develop a Senior Heavyweight Women’s crew all athletes need to compete in the 1x or 2- at London Metropolitan Regatta on both Saturday and Sunday. This is to allow athletes an opportunity to show before World Cup II that they are at the required standard to compete at International level.

After March trials to show progress for athletes (in Women/heavy or lightweight groups) at international level:

  • London Metro
  • Trials 10&11/06/2017
  • Cork Regatta
  • Irish Championships

At the Irish Championships there will be an athlete performance evaluation.

Self-funding.

 

Under 23 World Championships

Violet Hayes has been nominated as Team Manager for the U23 WRC Team 19-23/07/2017.

The following six athletes have been provisionally nominated after the selection process to develop a LM 4x and LM 2x under guidance from Dominic Casey and Paul Thornton.

U23 LM 2- of David O Malley and Shane Mulvaney UCD are required to race at Cork Regatta.

 

Under 23 European Championships

The process will be to get international experience through:

  • London Metropolitan
  • Ghent
  • Home International Regatta
  • Trials in June (10&11/06/2017 for women only)
  • Cork Regatta
  • Irish Championships

At the Irish Championships there will be an evaluation of the performance level of athletes.

Following the Irish Championships, there will be a camp at the National Rowing Centre and training schedule from 20/07/2017 to prepare for the Under 23 European Championships.
