#RowToRio Club Promotion

BeFunky Collage

Following the inspiration performances of our Olympians in Rio we expect clubs to have an unprecedented interest in our sport in the coming weeks and months. We encourage all clubs to utilise this opportunity to recruit athletes and volunteers in conjunction with our #RowToRio campaign.

#RowToRio is a campaign to encourage sustained local participation in clubs and also to raise awareness of rowing clubs on the island of Ireland before, during and post Olympics.

We want to take this opportunity to ask all clubs across the country to maximise this opportunity by participating in the #RowToRio promotion by offering local taster sessions. The Olympics will spotlight our sport this year and we have an opportunity to grow rowing’s profile and participation levels further in 2016 and beyond. Posters are currently being distributed to your club to assist with the promotion.

This All Ireland campaign will include the promotion of club based rowing events and will begin with Taster Events on the weekends of 3rd/4th & 10th/11th September 2016. The weekend of the 10th/11th September also corresponds with the start of European Week of Sport and Ireland 2016.
