It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform our members that due to adverse weather conditions, we have been compelled to cancel the Rowing Ireland 1K Classic event due to take place this Saturday 16th of September at the National Rowing Centre in Cork.

The safety of our participants is our foremost concern. We understand that this will be disappointing to many, but we believe it is the responsible choice given the circumstances. We deeply appreciate your enthusiasm for rowing and your continued support for this event. Due to Calendar pressure, regrettably we cannot stage this event in 2023.

Refunds will be made to clubs over the coming days. We would like to thank all the volunteers who
once again made themselves available to assist in the running of this event.

In regard to the 1K Classic regatta event on Saturday, we wanted to inform all clubs and rowers that we are closely monitoring the weather forecast.

Given our commitment to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants, a final decision regarding the event status will be made at 9 am on Thursday morning.
We understand the importance of timely communication and will promptly update everyone accordingly.
Your understanding and patience are greatly appreciated as we prioritize the well-being of all
involved. Rest assured, we aim to make the best decision possible to ensure a successful and safe
event.
Thank you for your support and stay tuned for Thursday’s announcement.
