We know the last few months have been difficult for many, and with the cancelation of the 2020 Regatta season we at Rowing Ireland made it a priority to bring as much new content to our community as possible.
We were proud to have launched our Rowing Ireland Podcast alongside Kinetica in mid June, which was followed with a weekly episode for a total of 6 weeks. Over those 6 weeks, our host Niamh Hayes interviewed many of Rowing Ireland’s high-performance athletes, as well as covered news and stories from around the country.

Next, we at Rowing Ireland felt it would be a great opportunity to publish a mini-series that put focus on Ireland’s past World Rowing Champions. Our Women in Sports lead and Olympian Claire Lambe interviewed the world champions over zoom while re-watching their old race footage. We launched our mini-series in early July, and release a weekly episode over a 6 week period. Our main goal was to bring inspiration to Irish rowers and supporters during this difficult time and give them something to look forward to each week.
Across all our social media platforms we are pleased to promote Greenblades to help support our athletes.
Our goal is simple: to ensure that all athletes get every chance they can to represent Ireland at all levels. We want to ensure that when an athlete chooses rowing they do not face barriers to entry. Our rowers don’t receive funding until they reach a certain level and until then their parents and family must support them. Together, we can help row behind our team to podium gold. You too can make a difference to our next generation of rowers.

Last but not least, we would like to say thank you to all our members, supporters, and rowing community that made this all possible for us! We are so pleased with the support and positive feedback we have received over the last few months, and we look forward to the day we can all row together again!
