The 2017 Championships were the largest and most successful ever in the history of our sport and we would like to thank all athletes, coaches, supporters and volunteers for their support during this event.
We appreciate the respect and co-operation from the vast majority of people during this especially busy event. Sadly we do have to note the lack of respect and tolerance shown by a small cohort of individuals and as a result disciplinary fines have been issued to illustrate our commitment to meeting the highest standards both on and off the water.
Rowing Ireland also takes a very dim view of crews not appearing for the race for which they were declared the previous evening at the Irish Championships. As a result fines have been issued to clubs whose crews did not show for their respective race start at the Irish Championships.
We believe that our strict stance on core values will ensure our sport and event standards will continue to rise.
