As part of the Budget 2021 measures, €36m has been committed to Sport Ireland, which will be distributed across the sporting landscape with the aim of accelerating participation numbers and supporting governing bodies through a period of financial hardship and uncertainty.

This will increase core grant funding for our sporting bodies to sustain them in the difficult months to come.

It will also help and support Ireland’s high performance athletes so they can achieve their potential next year for the postponed Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games. The allocation will ensure there is increased funding for many Sport Ireland participation programmes across the country.

The development of key projects in the National Sports Campus Blanchardstown is a core objective for this government and Government has allocated €9.7m to progress this plan.
