Head Of The Shannon, Saturday 1st of December

A note from Carrick On Shannon Rowing Club ahead of the Head of The Shannon due to take place on Saturday the 1st of December:

Everyone at Carrick Rowing Club are eagerly anticipating this weekends event the  #HeadoftheShannon 2018 on our lovely stretch of river. We are watching the forecast attentively and will make timely decisions should the weather have any effect on our plans.
We are committed to planning and fulfilling a GREEN event on our nations primary waterway and as such we are doing the following:

1. We will be using fully compostable cutlery, cups and plates.

2. We will be making every effort to buy produce that is not packaged in plastic

3. We ask all visiting clubs not to bring single use plastic bottles, cellophane or other single use containers to our event. Please commit to purchasing a reuseable drinker, a lunchbox and a reuseable bag.

4. We will be segregating waste on the day into compostable, recyclable and refuse. We hope to have as little of the latter as possible. This good work will be done in association with Leitrim County Council

We look forward to welcoming all our visiting clubs to one of Irelands friendliest towns. We hope they all enjoy their stay and enjoy some safe, competitive rowing on the best stretch of river in Europe.

We look forward to welcoming spectators and supporters down to the club and to the Boardwalk to see some brilliant competitive rowing from Junior 14s to Veteran Masters
