Rowing Ireland is delighted to launch the High-Performance Coaching Pathway for female coaches. This initiative provides ambitious female coaches with coaching support for a whole year. The support will include coach education, development workshops and guidance from the High-Performance coaching team.
The aim of the initiative is to grow the diversity of our lead coaches and international coaching team while giving coaches extra support to progress to those levels.
Antonio Maurogiovanni added “We are delighted to support this program to develop female coaches towards coaching at the highest level. Irish Rowing needs more coaches, and in particular, more female coaches. We want to provide the support required for those who want to reach their highest coaching potential. We recognize the importance of diversity of our sport from participation to coaching, and this is one initiative which will add sustainability to our current successes.”
Claire Lambe, Women in Sport Lead. “Our biggest gap in gender diversity is at the higher coaching qualifications of Level 2 and 3, and at the international level. If we have female coaches who are ambitious to coach at the highest level, we want to support them to get there. This initiative will be one of a number of supports for our existing female coaches.”
We invite applications from female coaches who are looking to progress along the coaching pathway towards coaching at the highest level. Please find the information document and application form for more details on the program.
