Introduction to Para Rowing
Rowing Ireland’s Para Rowing Committee and Rowing Ireland Connacht Branch are delighted to announce that there will be a para rowing course in Galway on 25 May. It will be an informative session with classroom sessions in the morning and practical work in the afternoon. Topics will include para rowing classification, the type of equipment used in para rowing, disability awareness, safety, how to transfer in and out of boats etc.
Presenters will include Martin Kilbane, who is responsible for Irish HP para rowing, and physiotherapist Grace Collins.
Numbers will be limited so, if we are over subscribed, priority will be given to those already involved with para rowing and members of clubs with an existing para rowing programme who want to get involved. If there is demand, however, Rowing Ireland’s Para Rowing Committee will organize additional courses.
Please contact us even if you can’t make it to this course or aren’t currently involved in para rowing and let us know where you are and about your interest and potential involvement.
The course will be held in the Acoustic Room, Bailey Allen Building, NUIG on Saturday 25th May 2019 at 10am and will finish around 3pm.
To book your place, please email email@example.com indicating your relevant experience and current involvement, if any, in para rowing.
