“On behalf of Cairndhu Rowing Club, I am delighted to welcome you to the ‘2019 Swift Irish Offshore Rowing Championship’ in Ballygally, the gateway to the beautiful Antrim Coast. We would sincerely thank you for making the long journey and hope you have a successful day.”
David Harte Championship Director Cairndhu Rowing Club
“On behalf of the Rowing Ireland Offshore Committee, I would like to welcome you all to Ballygally Beach for our third Irish Offshore Rowing Championship. This year the event has grown yet again and in two years has almost doubled in size. This clearly illustrates the rapidly expanding nature of the sport. This is the first time that the Championships have been held in Northern Ireland and I would like to thank Cairndhu Rowing Club for hosting the event. With the long sandy beach and a challenging stretch of coastal water, we are looking forward to some excellent racing. Many thanks to all the volunteers that make an event such as this possible and best wishes to all the competitors and their supporters. I would also like to say a special word of thanks to Swift Racing for their sponsorship.”
Kieran Kerr, Chair – Rowing Ireland Offshore Rowing
Rowing Ireland has agreed to a sponsorship deal with Swift Racing, manufacturer of rowing boats, to support the Rowing Ireland Offshore Championships 2019, which will take place at Cairndhu Rowing Club, Antrim on the 7th September. Rowing Ireland is the national governing body for all disciplines of the sport in Ireland, and its recently developed Offshore Rowing division was created to respond to the huge growth in interest and participation shown in the sport all over the world in recent years.
Swift Racing manufactures and supplies rowing boats and equipment for all disciplines worldwide, from fine racing boats to para and leisure rowing boats. Swift Racing’s coastal boats are made to FISA specifications and have been winning medals and breaking records at national and international levels of the sport for the last few years.
“Swift Racing and Swift Coastal Boats Ireland are really excited about the new relationship with Rowing Ireland, and the opportunity to add value to their Offshore Championships this year,” says Peter Doyle, Head of Swift Coastal Boats Ireland. “We’ve been watching the growth and popularity of the sport in Ireland recently, and when Rowing Ireland created their dedicated Offshore division, we wanted to get involved. The opportunity came up to sponsor the 2019 Offshore Championships, and we saw this as a great way help offshore rowers throughout Ireland to experience our world medal-winning and record-breaking boats themselves, and to help them to develop their own sport and achievements even further.”
