The PIRC took place this Saturday 20th of November in the University of Limerick Arena. Organised by RowFit with support from Rowing Ireland, the event took place successfully.

Thanks to relentless preparations and attention to detail by organiser Joe Cantillion, the Provinces Indoor Rowing Competition took place with clubs and crews travelling to Limerick to leave it all on the erg. Racing kicked off at 9am with U13 girls starting the day. All results and racing were accessible live online so many watched online to see the battle of the ergs. The TimeTeam technology allowed viewers to see erg splits, distance or time between competitors aswell as rankings.

Events included in the competition ranged in age category, lightweight categories, para rowing category and also by distance or timed challenges (eg. 1000m, 2000m or 3 minute, 4 minute trials). A group of athletes took part from a joint venture between Enable Ireland and Get Going Get Rowing in the iROW event.

The Irish Indoor Rowing Championships are scheduled to take place on the 22nd of January 2022.
