To All Members,
This is a note to advise you that the AGM date originally scheduled for Sunday 6th of November has been deferred to Sunday the 20th of November. We took the decision following the series of roadshows which have just been completed. Those meetings were hugely beneficial, and we received excellent feedback for which we are most grateful. We are committed to ensuring that what we learned will inform our governance proposals.
We are currently working hard to complete all the necessary documentation. In that endeavour we are ably supported by our legal advisers. While our documents should be ready for publication at the end of this week, in order to take full account of all the feedback and to engage properly with both our board and also with Sport Ireland with those above, we require a little more time.
On a separate issue, Rowing Ireland has been approached by some club committees seeking guidance on how to propose motions or officers for branches considering the discussed and proposed changes. On foot of this we will shortly issue guidance notes on the proposals given the changes in constitution last year and further proposed changes. We will work with clubs to organise or facilitate such meetings in the next two-three weeks.
