Kilmacsimon Rowing Club kicked off the Coastal Rowing season with their annual Head of the River on Sunday April 28th.
Clubs from all over West and East Cork, Cork city and South Kerry traveled to the event. Over 60 boats were launched on the day with both offshore and coastal rowers catered for in a wide variety of categories.
The course length ranged from 2km to 6km depending on the category and age group.
The glorious sunshine was a welcome relief after Storm Hannah and conditions were perfect for a great days rowing.
Hospitality was provided in the club house and all visitors to the club were very well catered for.
The next events on the rowing calendar in the South West are the Two Oar Competition hosted by Galley Flash Rowing Club on Sunday May 12th and the Schools Regatta hosted by Rosscarbery Rowing Club on Sunday May 19th.
