Last weekend saw a record attendance at the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships held at the University of Limerick Sports Arena. The event showcased thrilling performances across all categories, with several national records shattered.

Mattias Cogan stole the show in the Men’s Junior 18 event, clocking an extraordinary time of 6:03.5 to set a new national record. His performance exemplified the high level of competition seen throughout the championships.

Other national records were broken by:

Eoghan Volz O’Dowd in the J14 category

Kay Rice in the W60-64 category

Kay Springall in the LW60-64 category

Grace Faherty in the J16 category

Lucy O’Brien in the W55-59 category

Kenny McDonald in the M50-54 category

In the fiercely contested Men’s Open 2000m, Adam Murphy of UCCRC claimed victory with a time of 05:58.05. On the women’s side, Niamh Kilgallen of Neptune RC delivered a commanding performance to win the Women’s Open 2000m with a time of 7:08.
