Return to Rowing Challenge

We are encouraging former rowers to pick back up their oars and return to the sport for a one-off rowing challenge.

The Barrow Challenge is an 18km row, point to point race, covering a scenic route, meandering from Carlow, through Kilkenny, to New Ross in Wexford. The Barrow Challenge will be held on the 4th of October 2020.

Clubs around the country are opening their doors to support former rowers to come back and train together over a 10-week period towards the event.

For €120, new rowers who sign up for the Return to Rowing Challenge will get:

  • 10 weeks access to their local club,
  • Use of a boat for some training and the event
  • Use of the club indoor facilities
  • A fun and flexible training plan
  • Entry to the event
  • A race t-shirt.

Rope in your old rowing friends to get back in the boat and train towards this unique race.
