As Chair of RI Ulster Branch, I find it very sad to have to inform you all that our Honorary Secretary Ronald Walker was tragically killed in a cycling accident yesterday evening ( 26/3/20) close to his home.
Ronald started his rowing days at Coleraine Academical Institution and over the years became a coach, an umpire( both for Rowing Ireland and FISA ) along with being Secretary of the Ulster Branch over the last number of years. Ronald was extremely dedicated to the sport of rowing and was the leading force in the Branch for the re-establishing of the Craigavon Lakes Regatta. He will be missed at Events throughout Ireland and we in the Ulster Branch will miss his huge contribution.
At this tragic time our thoughts are with his family – wife Lesley and daughters Rowena and Lauren.
