Rowing Ireland celebrates those who helped the team through an incredible Olympic Games in Tokyo which saw two crews pick up medals.
This Olympics saw Ireland’s largest rowing team ever, with six crews, thirteen athletes, four reserves and seven coaching and support staff in Tokyo. Out of the six crews, four finished in the top ten, with two finishing just outside, in 11th and 12th.
Fintan McCarthy and Paul O’Donovan won Gold in the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls, and Aifric Keogh, Eimear Lambe, Fiona Murtagh and Emily Hegarty won Bronze in the Women’s Four.
After such a successful Olympic Games, Rowing Ireland takes the time to thank those who helped the team through Tokyo 2020.
