Following the recent selection trials at the Kinetica National Rowing Centre, Rowing Ireland’s High Performance Director, Antonio Maurogiovanni has announced the following selections for the Junior, U23 and Senior 2020 European Championships.
Rowing Ireland would like to congratulate all of the athletes selected to represent Ireland at these events over the next few months.
Rowing Ireland’s Greenblades initiative supports athletes that are not yet carded by Sport Ireland on their journey in competing at the highest level.
Last year we raised thousands to support our developmental athletes and HP pathway. This was done in collaboration with athlete’s clubs, their family and friends, and our rowing friends across Ireland and the globe.
All donations to Greenblades through the year and from the online Greenblades shop will be used to support some of those athletes selected this year. Our objective for this year is to be able to fund accommodation for those athletes that need to relocate to the NRC until they become carded athletes.
Through Greenblades the athletes receive;
- Catered food (Breakfasts one and two) at the Kinetica National Rowing Centre for preparatory training camps
- Subsistence for accommodation for athletes that are required to relocate to the Kinetica National Rowing Centre
We are building a system for not only Tokyo but also now for Paris in 2024.
Should you want to support all our athletes please donate as little as €5 a month or make a one-off donation. You can also buy merchandise from our shop at www.greenblades.ie, with all profits going to support our athletes.
Last year we followed some of our junior athletes on their journey in preparation for World Junior Championships in Tokyo.
