Dublin, Tuesday August 8: Trinity College Dublin have unveiled Richard Ruggieri as their new Chief Rowing Coach (DUBC – men’s rowing). Richard arrives in Trinity from the elite rowing programme at the University of Tulsa, where he was Associate Head Coach. Prior to that he worked with elite student athletes at Louisville and Clemson universities and is a former head coach for the United States U23 national team.
In his new role Richard will build on previous successes at Dublin University Boat Club (DUBC) and will lead the creation and implementation of a top-class coaching structure at the club. Of his new charges he says: “What I really enjoyed about meeting the athletes was their comfort and ease of talking; the level of enjoyment they had around each other was very obvious.”
