Carlow Regatta

Carlow’s 163rd regatta went off without a hitch last weekend. With 54 races on Saturday and 115 races on Sunday, it was a busy weekend for all! The event catered for athletes from Junior 13 level to Master’s level across the two days. Graiguenamangh had a strong showing at the event with 15 entries for Saturdays racing and 13 entries for Sunday.

Galway Regatta

With such large entries for the 137th Galway Regatta, all races were changed to straight finals. Racing began as early as 8:15am and finished up at 6:25pm, to fit in all 115 races! St Michaels Rowing Club took home an impressive haul of 10 wins with Sligo Rowing Club and Shannon Rowing Club coming in close behind with 8 wins each!

Offshore Masters Challenge Regatta

Ballygally beach was the place to be last weekend with the fantastic weather and great racing! There was racing for Masters 40 and Masters 50 as well as Junior 18, 16 and 14. Have a look at Olderfleet Rowing Club’s Facebook page linked below for pictures of the event.

London Met Regatta

Last weekend 10 Irish clubs competed at London Met Regatta. Located at Eton Dorney, the athletes got the opportunity to race on the 2012 Olympic course against some tough overseas crews. Even with tricky weather conditions on the Saturday, many Irish crews were still able to come home with some silverware.
