Rowing Ireland is committed to increasing women’s sustained involvement in the sport as coaches, volunteers, club members, officials, leaders, and participants, from grassroots to elite performance.
We have developed a Women in Rowing Strategy which outlines:
- Where we are now
- What we aim to achieve
- How we plan to do it.
Claire Lambe, Women in Sport Lead said, ‘This strategy is a really important foundation to achieving gender balance in every aspect of our sport. Some initiatives outlined are already underway and we are getting positive feedback with them so far. The strategy highlights where work is needed – in particular gender reporting, coaching and officiating – and outlines initiatives for the next 12 months to try address these areas. This document sets the challenge by clearly outlining our plans and ambitions. We look forward to rolling out some more of the initiatives outlined, in the coming months, and hope for strong engagement from members and clubs.’
