World Rowing have confirmed that the World Rowing Championships will proceed as planned in Sarasota, Florida. Hurricane Irma damage in the Sarasota area was limited and preparations for the event beginning on 24th September and running until 1st October are underway.
Unfortunately Gary O’ Donovan (Skibbereen RC) has had to withdraw from the LM2x due to a viral infection that has compromised his preparations for the event however, Gary has been selected by the HP Management to travel as a reserve.
The Irish team to compete in Sarasota is as follows:

LM2- : Mark O’ Donovan (Skibbereen RC)/ Shane O’ Driscoll (Skibbereen RC)
M2- : Patrick Boomer (Belfast RC)/ Fionnan McQuillan-Tolan (NUIG BC)

LW1x : Denise Walsh (Skibbereen RC)
W2- : Aileen Crowley (UCD BC)/ Aifric Keogh (UCC RC)
