The Government have announced details of a €50 million Community Recognition Fund. This major initiative, the first of its kind, is designed to specifically support communities across the country that have welcomed and are hosting families and citizens from Ukraine and other countries.
Among the projects that will be supported under the fund include: (further details on page 3 in the attached document)
· The refurbishment of local sports clubs and facilities;
· The purchase of equipment to benefit local clubs.
The €50 million has been allocated across all local authorities based on the number of new arrivals located there (a breakdown of this allocation can be found in the attachment below). Projects will be delivered by the local authorities in conjunction with relevant community organisations.
Applications for funding are put in by the local authorities so we encourage clubs to engage with their local authorities to explore relevant opportunities that they might have for rowing in their area.
