Rowing Ireland are delighted to announce Bernie O’Leary as the January Volunteer of the Month!
Bernie is the Chairperson of Edermine Ferry Rowing Club, and is there every day towing boats, bringing coffee, and encouraging new and old members to follow their dreams in rowing both indoor and outdoor. She is an outstanding person and is passionate about all things rowing and tries to instil that passion and love in Edermine Ferry’s club members. Nothing is too hard or out of her abilities.
Bernie is a dedicated rower and a team player, supporting all roles in the club. Since Bernie became chairperson she has been involved in day to day running of the club and even learned to tow the boat trailers. Bernie goes above and beyond for the club to be a positive and inclusive place. She supports all members in the club and she is a dedicated athlete herself.
Entries open for February’s award on the 11th of February so make sure to nominate your volunteers!
