Ireland most popular style of rowing that has featured in the Olympic Games since 1900. The boats can have one, two, four or eight seats rowing either sweep or sculling.

Coastal rowing is offered in many clubs around the coast and near lakes. Crews race in various events including: 800m, 1,500m and the 2,300m multi-turn race

Indoor rowing has been widely used in the training and preparation of athletes for many years but has developed into a competitive sport in its own right
