The 2024 1K Classic held on Saturday 29th June at Lough Rinn, County Leitrim, has been hailed as a resounding success. From 9am to 6pm, the serene waters of Lough Rinn witnessed a series of exhilarating races, drawing enthusiastic participation and spectatorship.

Organised by Rowing Ireland and meticulously coordinated by the 2024 1K Classic Committee under the guidance of Chairperson Michael Hughes, the event featured entry categories across J13, J14, J15, and Masters. The broad range of categories ensured a dynamic competition, showcasing young talents and seasoned rowers alike.

The event enjoyed significant support from Leitrim County Council and the Department of Rural and Community Development through the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund. This support was instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution and success of the event. Chairperson Michael Hughes expressed his delight, stating, “The 2024 1K Classic has truly exceeded our expectations.
