Thank you to all clubs and athletes who expressed an interest in attending the first Beach Sprints Upskilling Day in Lough Rinn on January 25th. We were delighted to receive interest from over 80 rowers, highlighting the rapid growth of Beach Sprint rowing within Ireland.

Due to capacity limitations, we were only able to accommodate approximately 30 participants on the day. Allocation for this upskilling day was determined based on proximity to Lough Rinn, limited experience in Coastal Rowing, the exclusion of athletes attending personal training camps in Spain, and completion of PPT 1, which was a prerequisite for trial participation.

We would like to note that a second Beach Sprints Upskilling Day will take place in April at the NRC. Athletes who were unsuccessful on this occasion will receive preference for the April session. Athletes attending the Lough Rinn day will also remain eligible for the NRC upskilling day, subject to availability.
