The Big Strong Gorls are delighted to announce, with the support of Powerhouse Sport, the launch of the BSG x Powerhouse fund. Many of us have come through the ranks as junior rowers and are therefore aware of the challenges that one may face while aiming to progress as an athlete. Sport can be a costly endeavour and this fund was established to support the next generations of BSGs and to help remove some financial barriers.
Eligibility:
We will be accepting applications from junior girls that are members of a Rowing Ireland affiliated club. Applicants must be eligible to race as junior athletes the 2023 season.
Award:
The BSG x Powerhouse fund is hoping to select between 4-6 athletes and to award a minimum of €500 and a maximum of €1,000 depending on the calibre of applicants.
Please answer all questions below, where applicable. All applications will be reviewed after the submission deadline of 5pm May 26th. A shortlist of candidates will be made and a panel will then select the successful candidates for the fund. In the case of a high level of applicants, the panel may wish to interview the candidates in order to assist in their selection. If this is the case, it is likely that the interviews will be held online.
