Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprints

Marina di Carducci, Italy, hosted the first edition of the Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprints, which took place from the 20th to the 24th of September.

Team Ireland made history by picking up its first-ever medal at the event. Michael O Boyle of Loughros Point Rowing Club claimed a bronze medal in the B final, despite challenging conditions.

The Donegal Bay Rowing Club JWx2 team of Grace Masterson and Méabh McNamara, the JMix2x team of Seléena Connolly and Jack Hehir from Rosscarbery Rowing Club, and the JM2x team of Frank Beechinor and Jack O’Donovan of Ring Rowing Club also delivered phenomenal performances over the weekend. They bravely faced the tough conditions of the Donoratico beach and proudly represented Ireland in the quarterfinals of their respective events.

A huge congratulations to all the athletes who competed this weekend.

Also, a big thank you to Team Manager Séamus Maguire (Donegal Bay Rowing Club) and the boat handlers who travelled to the event and provided invaluable support.
