Over 780 athletes made their way to Leitrim this past weekend to take part in Lough Rinn Regatta, the second event in this year’s Grand League series. Hosted on the scenic waters of Lough Rinn, competitors were met with near-perfect racing conditions, including calm waters and sunny skies that helped to deliver an exciting day of competition.
Crews from across the country turned out in force, with racing taking place across a full schedule of junior, club, and senior categories. With so many clubs represented and valuable league points up for grabs, the regatta brought high energy, competitive spirit, and some standout performances on the water.
Following the regatta, Neptune Rowing Club now sits at the top of the table with an impressive 907 points, overtaking previous leaders. Close behind is Methodist College Belfast Boat Club, who also delivered strong results over the weekend. The full league standings are available below.
The next opportunity for clubs to gain points and improve their standing will be at the Dublin Metropolitan Regatta, taking place in Blessington on Friday, 24th May. Crews hoping to compete should note that entries close tomorrow, 14th May—so be sure to get your entries in!
Stay tuned for more updates as the league progresses and competition heats up!
