Rowing Ireland is running a one-day Beach Sprints upskilling course at NRC, Co. Cork on Saturday 7th March. This course is open to all athletes who have submitted PPT 1 or 2, whether or not you have previously taken part in Beach Sprints.

The aim of the day is to help athletes become comfortable manoeuvring through a Beach Sprints course, while learning the correct techniques and tips needed to master this skill.

Session Details

There will be three sessions available throughout the day (same layout as Upskill 1). Each session will last 90 minutes, with a maximum of 10 athletes per session to allow coaches to provide as much one-to-one feedback as possible.

Slot 1: 10:00 – 11:30

Slot 2: 12:00 – 13:30

Slot 3: 14:00 – 15:30

Athletes may select their preferred time slot; however, final groupings will be organised based on proximity to NRC, limited experience in Coastal Rowing, and completion of PPT 1/2, which was a prerequisite for trial participation. Also, we aim to give a chance to those who did not partake in Upskill 1 however if there are still spaces free we will include people from Upskill 1.

Boats and oars will be needed to be supplied by those attending the upskill day, flatwater rowers can get in touch with local coastal clubs to ask for a loan for the session.
