We are delighted to announce that Lochlan Crookes of the University of Galway Boat Club is June’s Volunteer of the Month!

Lochlan is a first-year student at the University of Galway and started this season as an athlete with the club, competing at the highest level in the university senior men’s crews and at the national trials. However, after suffering an injury in the winter, Lochlan has since become an assistant coach for the University of Galway Boat Club.

As a successful junior athlete, Lochlan used his knowledge and experience to help develop the club’s athletes throughout the year. He has devoted countless early mornings and late nights to coaching athletes and fixing equipment while contributing to the positive, competitive club environment.

Lochlan’s commitment to the club and the sport, along with his perseverance through his injury, has been a source of inspiration for members of the University of Galway BC. Members of the club are grateful for his dedication and hard work throughout this season.

Congratulations Lochlan!!
