Rowing Ireland are delighted to announce a three-year partnership with Swift Racing. Swift Racing is dedicated to making fast and competitive boats at a reasonable price, allowing everyone to compete on a fair playing field – the sea! They are also committed to the development and promotion of the sport and all athletes taking part in our great sport.

This partnership will see Swift Racing become the official sponsor of the Irish Coastal Championships as well as the Irish Beach Sprints Qualifier.

The ‘Swift Irish Coastal Championships’ in Ireland have evolved successfully over the last five years, growing year on year in terms of participation rates, strength of competition and professionalism of the event.  Each year has also seen the continuous development of the sport in Ireland, which has kept pace with the significant growth globally.  With the new sponsorship partnership in place, the future of the Swift Irish Coastal Championships is secure.

“The participation and energy around coastal rowing is significantly increasing over the last number of years” said Derek Bowen, business Development Manager with Rowing Ireland. “It’s fantastic to have this opportunity with Swift Racing coming on board for the Irish Coastal Championships and the Beach Sprint Qualifiers, as we continue to develop our standing in this rowing discipline from club level to high performance level. Last year’s events were a huge success and we look forward to continuing this partnership with Swift Racing”.

Joe Cantillon of ROWfit (the Irish agent for Swift Racing boats) has commented that the “Irish Coastal Championships is a credit to Rowing Ireland and its host clubs. The professionally executed event has been successful at keeping clubs and athletes at the centre of the sport, with the attention given to the finer details making it an excellent rowing experience for all involved. We are delighted to continue our support.”

This year the ‘Swift Irish Coastal Championships’ will take place from 28th-30th July in Portnoo, Co.Donegal and the Swift Beach Sprints Qualifier in Ballinaskelligs, Co. Kerry on the 23rd July.
