Rowing Ireland is delighted to announce the seven young women selected to take part in the 2026 Young Women in Leadership Programme, delivered in partnership with Move2Be.
Following a strong application process, the successful participants are:
- Azliana Uzir-Nichols – Loughros Point Rowing Club
- Aoife Cassidy – Donegal Bay Rowing Club
- Claire Walsh – Enniskillen Royal Boat Club
- Shalini Chandrasekar – Commercial Rowing Club
- Amy Gardner – Athlone Boat Club
- Niamh O’Connell – Fermoy Rowing Club
- Rebecca Hurley – Castleconnell Boat Club
The programme will support participants to develop their confidence, communication and leadership skills while encouraging them to consider how they can positively influence their clubs, teams and wider communities.
Throughout the programme, the participants will explore different approaches to leadership, learn from highly experienced facilitators and connect with other young women who share an interest in sport and personal development.
We received applications from young women across the country who demonstrated considerable enthusiasm, insight and leadership potential. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to apply and share their experiences and ideas with us.
