Steven started rowing with Galway RC in 2021 and quickly progressed to the international stage, racing in the PR2 Mix2x at the 2022 European Rowing Championships in Munich. Steven went on to qualify the PR2 Mix2x for the 2024 Paris Olympics after finishing 5th in the 2023 World Championships with doubles partner Katie O’Brien.

In 2024, Steven raced in the PR2 M1x at World Cup II and III, finishing 4th in both championships.
