The second Grand League Regatta took place this week in Lough Rinn, Leitrim. The event was a fantastic success, with favorable weather conditions making the day all the more enjoyable for the almost 300 crews that raced throughout the day. Highlights from the weekend included the Methodist MJ18A, and Enniskillen WJ18 A crews taking the win in the Div 1 8+’s races.
After the Lough Rinn regatta, Neptune RC stands at the top of the Grand League table with 1028 points, followed by St. Michaels RC in second place. The full table can be found below. Up next is the Dublin Metropolitan Regatta, which will take place at Blessington Lake on May 25th. Entries will close at 7 pm on Wednesday.
Eight Rowing Ireland clubs made the trip to Belgium for the 2024 Ghent International Regatta, which also took place this weekend. Castleconnell BC picked up the ‘Best Junior Club’ award at this year’s regatta after picking up a number of wins throughout the weekend, including gold in the WU19 8+ and silver in the MU19 8+.
