Rowing Ireland is delighted to announce the Wicklow Community Rowing Indoors Challenge, taking place on Sunday, February 22nd at Shoreline Leisure, Greystones, in collaboration with Greystones Community Rowing.

This event is open to everyone, including rowers, gym members, Hyrox and Crossfit athletes, and complete beginners. The event will also run alongside the World Rowing Virtual Indoor Series, giving participants the opportunity to be part of a global rowing initiative.

Event Categories

The One-Minute Row is open to all participants. There will be no age-group breakdown, no medals awarded, and pre-registration is required. Entry for this event is free.

The 1000m Row will feature Men’s and Women’s Open categories, and Men’s and Women’s 40+, 50+, and 60+ categories. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category.

The 5000m Row will follow the same category structure as the 1000m event, with Men’s and Women’s Open, and 40+, 50+, and 60+ divisions. Medals will again be awarded to the top three competitors in each category.

The 2km Team Relay will include Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed teams, with mixed teams consisting of two men and two women. Each athlete in the mixed relay will row 500 metres. There will be no age-group divisions.

The 5km Team Relay will also feature Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed teams, with mixed teams made up of two men and two women. Each athlete will row 1,250 metres in succession. There will be no age-group categories.

A School Team Event will run as a dedicated school and U18 competition. Further details on this event will be confirmed shortly.

The SkiErg Challenge (1000m) is open to all participants, and will take place in conjunction with the Winter Olympics.
