Women in Sport Week 2026 will take place between March 2nd to March 8th this year. This event initiative is an opportunity for clubs to showcase their female members and also engage with prospective new members. We are offering support with an indoor rowing event for women.

This Expression of Interest form is to be used by Rowing Ireland affiliated clubs who wish to participate in the ‘Women Row Together’ community indoor rowing event during Women in Sport Week, coinciding with International Women’s Day.

Women Row Together is co-delivered by Rowing Ireland and participating Local Sports Partnerships (LSPs) and eligible clubs that are selected. As this event is a pilot initiative, a limited number of clubs will be selected for targeted support. Filling in this form is not a guarantee your club will be chosen. Clubs can still run their own events and share their success.

How it works:

A nominated leader from the club will be linked with the Rowing Ireland Women in Sport Lead, and supporting Local Sports Partnership lead to design a small club event that welcomes women to do indoor rowing together. Capacity will vary depending on the club, so these events will be individually designed. Support will be offered via:

  • Payment for coaching hours
  • Templates for running indoor rowing sessions
  • Administrative assistance (we can help with sign ups).

Sample event

– 10 places available for a 1 hour total beginners session, with coffee/tea refreshments and social time afterwards. 10 places available for second slot for existing female members to take on short distance or relay challenges.

Benefits to the club include: Opportunity to meet and recruit potential new members, the LSP may be able to connect the club with participants the club has not engaged with. Examples of groups you could target: TY groups, Active retirees, parents of junior rowers, local company employees etc.

To be eligible to participate, clubs must:

  • Be affiliated with Rowing Ireland
  • Have access to indoor rowing equipment (ergs)
  • Commit to delivering an inclusive, women-focused community event during Women in Sport Week
  • Be willing to engage with local community women’s groups (with support from an LSP where applicable)
  • Agree to event promotion and visibility requirements (photos, social media tagging, short feedback post-event)
