Day 2 of the 2025 European Rowing U19 Championships in Kruszwica, Poland brought impressive final performances from Ireland’s U19 athletes. Several crews improved on their previous times, and Jonah Kirby and Jack Rafferty delivered a standout result by securing a bronze medal in the Junior Men’s Double (JM2x).

JM2x | Jonah Kirby & Jack Rafferty

The Junior Men’s Double delivered a fantastic performance to take home the bronze medal with a time of 06:16.71. In a hard-fought race, the crew showed incredible skill and determination, securing Ireland’s spot on the podium at the Championships. This is a standout achievement for the young athletes, who have an exciting future in rowing ahead of them.

JW2- | Cloda Phillips & Aida Hehir

This morning began with the B Final of the Junior Women’s Pair. Ireland put in a strong performance, pushing the Greek crew all the way to the line but narrowly missing out on first place. They finished second with a time of 07:31.20, an impressive 26 seconds faster than their heat time yesterday.

JM4x | Evan O’Byrne, Bill Murphy, Mattias Cogan & Harry McCarthy

The Junior Men’s Quad finished fifth with a time of 06:01.88 in an incredibly tight race, with less than one second separating third, fourth, and fifth place. In a highly competitive field, the crew showed great determination and fought hard in every race.

JM4- | Paul Schofield, Richard Heaslip, Tommy Little & Daniel Crozier
The Junior Men’s Four narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing with a time of 06:05.04. They shaved an impressive 14 seconds off their semi-final time. This crew is showing real promise and looks set for an exciting season ahead.

JW2x | Sophia Young & Aoife Hendy

The Junior Women’s Double finished in sixth place with a time of 07:04.45, improving on their time from yesterday by an impressive 20 seconds. This crew has shown strong racing throughout the Championships.
