The Beach Sprints trials scheduled for Lough Rinn this weekend have unfortunately been cancelled, Following consultation with Met Éireann, we have been advised that Gale Force 5 winds (up to 80kph) are expected on Friday and storm conditions and weather warnings are expected to be in place for Saturday.
Due to these conditions, and with the safety of all athletes, volunteers and organisers as our top priority, we have made the decision to cancel this weekend’s Beach Sprints Trials in Lough Rinn.
While this is disappointing, particularly given the work that has gone into organising the event, this decision has been made in the interest of safety.
We would like to sincerely thank all organisers and volunteers for their efforts in preparing for the trials.
Further updates regarding any rescheduling or next steps will be communicated in due course.
