This weekend is a big weekend of regatta’s with record entries in the Castleconnell sprints. There are 612 crews from 22 clubs so it is going to be a big and very exciting event.

While at the other side of the country Trinity regatta is in full swing again with 257 crews racing. It is going to be a very exciting event as Trinity have the cambridge winning women’s 8+ with DULBC alumni Caoimhe Dempsey returning home with her Cambridge crew. The event  is the largest sporting event hosted by the university and originally raced on the Liffey in Dublin’s Docklands.

The regatta has been held in Islandbridge every year since 1898, excluding a brief interlude from 1915-1921 as a result of the First World War.
