The Waterways Ireland “Row for It League” heads to Athlone this Saturday, 13 June, for the next round in the Waterways Ireland ‘Row for It League’ at Coosan Point, Athlone. Following a successful outing at Carlow Regatta, junior crews from across the country will once again take to the water as they compete for valuable league points and continue their progress through the season.
Carlow Regatta provided another excellent showcase for junior rowing, attracting strong participation from clubs across the country and producing competitive racing throughout the day. Among the highlights was the impressive entry in the Junior 15 sculling events, which attracted 12 men’s entries and 11 women’s entries. The large fields and close racing reflected the growing strength of youth rowing and the positive impact the Waterways Ireland “Row for It League” continues to have in encouraging young athletes to take part in the sport.
