Genoa, Italy is once again preparing to host the world’s best coastal rowers for the 2024 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals (WRBSF), scheduled to take place from September 13-15, with a reserve day on September 16.
The WRBSF is the pinnacle event for coastal rowing, an exciting discipline that combines elements of traditional rowing with the challenges of beach and surf conditions. This unique sport will make its Olympic debut at the LA 2028 Games, highlighting its growing popularity and competitive spirit.
As the European Capital of Sport in 2024, Genoa will host a full slate of sporting events, including over 1,000 competitions across various levels. The WRBSF, along with the World Rowing Coastal Championships, will be among the highlights of the city’s sporting calendar.
The 2024 WRBSF will feature a range of events across multiple categories:
Men’s Events: CM1x, CJM1x, CJM2x
Women’s Events: CW1x, CJW1x, CJW2x
Mixed Events: CMix2x, CMix4x+, CJMix2x
Coastal Mixed Double Sculls (PR3 CMix2x)
The competition will kick off with the first preliminary round of Time Trials on Thursday, September 12, at 17:00. Athletes and teams are advised to be prepared for this critical stage as they vie for positions in the main events.
