As part of its commitment to long term athlete development the Coach Education Department is running a Camp in Galway on Saturday, October 5th, 2024. The Camp is for J16 rowers who competed at the July Irish Championships in J16 events and are looking at Homes and Coupe selection in 2025.
Why Attend the Camp?
Athletes participating in the camp will gain several valuable opportunities:
High-Level Coaching:
Learn from experienced coaches who will share advanced techniques and strategies to elevate your rowing skills.
Technical Drills:
Receive new drills designed to improve both sculling and sweep rowing proficiency, tailored to enhance your overall performance.
Collaborative Rowing Practice:
Row alongside peers from other clubs, fostering a uniform technique in alignment with Rowing Ireland’s technical model.
Competitive Racing:
Engage in friendly races against other aspiring rowers, allowing you to gauge your competition and prepare for future selections.
Important Information
If the camp is oversubscribed, selection will be based on 2k ergometer scores. However, if your rower represented Ireland during the 2023-2024 season but has a 2k time below the cutoff for this camp, please reach out to us directly to discuss their participation.
