Rowing Ireland is now recruiting for its paid summer opportunities 2026, offering exciting coaching and water sport experience roles in Belfast and Derry as part of the Get Going Get Rowing Programme. These opportunities are ideal for university and college students, aspiring coaches, current rowers, and outdoor enthusiasts who want to gain valuable experience while making a positive impact on young people across Northern Ireland.

Whether you are looking to develop coaching skills, build leadership experience, or spend your summer working outdoors in a supportive and energetic environment, this programme offers a fantastic opportunity to get involved.

Summer camps will take place on the River Foyle in Derry and the River Lagan in Belfast, delivering fun and engaging rowing and water sport activities for young participants throughout the summer.

What the Roles Offer

Successful applicants will become part of a programme focused on youth development, inclusion, community engagement, and creating positive sporting experiences for young people.

Participants will benefit from:

  • Paid summer work in an enjoyable outdoor environment
  • Coaching and leadership experience
  • Practical water sport experience
  • Opportunities to work with young people
  • Communication and teamwork skill development
  • Full training and ongoing support. (No previous coaching experience is required).

Additional Opportunities Through Get Going Get Rowing

Applicants may also have the opportunity to become involved in the Get Going Get Rowing Schools Programme, which operates in local schools during term time.

This provides further coaching and development opportunities beyond the summer camps while continuing to support young people through sport and physical activity throughout the year.
