The Trials for the 2023 Home international Regatta are set to take place this coming weekend at Cork Regatta. The trial will be run off as indicated as part of the Division 1 1x- and 2- races in Cork Regatta. Note, there will be a separate race for the Para rowing crews.
The races will run as a standard Grand League regatta is run. All boats will be timed in a qualification heat. The fastest 6 boats will go to the A final, the next fastest 6 to the B final and the next fastest 6 to the C final. Note, not all boats in the events will be trialling for selection.
Crews will be ranked according to final finishing positions, for example if only one junior pair reaches the A final they will be deemed no. 1 ranked junior pair as they cannot be beaten by another junior pair. If 2 boats reach the A final they will be ranked according to fastest in the final, the same ruling for the B and C finals.
If there is a large number of entries in an event at Cork Regatta and there isn’t enough crews qualifying for the A, B and C finals to fill the HI team, then crews who didn’t qualify for the finals will be ranked according to their qualification heat time.
Important Note: Final selection confirmation for Junior rowers will not be possible until after the HP
team have confirmed Coupe selection and how many preselected rowers will be on the HI team.
