Rowing Ireland is inviting clubs to take part in Inclusive Rowing in Practice, a new 90-minute interactive workshop designed to support clubs in creating clearer, calmer, and more inclusive rowing environments.
Delivered by Jo Aungiers, Rowing Ireland Coach Developer, this workshop is grounded in extensive research and focuses on practical, real-world application within club settings.
This is a hands-on session built around everyday rowing scenarios. It is designed for coaches and volunteers who want simple, effective ideas they can implement immediately within their club environment.
Participants will explore:
- How different learning, communication, and sensory needs can present in rowing environments;
- Practical ways to improve communication and structure within sessions;
- Simple adjustments to make training and club activity easier to navigate;
- How to identify three clear, practical actions to bring back and apply within their club.
This is not specialist training. No prior knowledge is required. The session is designed to be accessible, relevant, and practical for all club settings.

Clubs are encouraged to send 2 to 4 representatives to maximise impact and support shared implementation.
