11 Irish indoor rowing records were broken this weekend at the 2024 Irish Indoor Rowing Championships, which took place on Saturday at the UL Sports Arena. Over 1500 athletes entered to compete in the 100 events offered.

Mattias Cogan of Skibbereen RC won the MJ16 2000m event with a time of 6:13.7, setting a new Irish record. Acorn Cassidy of Enniskillen Royal Boat Club also achieved record times of 06:53.7 and 01:31.6 in the WJ18 2000m and 500m events, respectively. Paul Gallon of Athlone BC set three new records in the LM70-74 2000m, 1000m, and 500m events.

Unfortunately, due to preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Rowing Ireland High-Performance Athletes could not compete at the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships. However, three new Irish indoor 2000m records were set at the NRC this weekend by Margaret Cremen, Fiona Murtagh, and Paul O’Donovan.
