Making Waves – New Women in Leadership Webinar Series launched by Rowing Ireland & Triathlon Ireland

Rowing Ireland and Triathlon Ireland are pleased to announce a new series of Women in Leadership webinars, ‘Making Waves’. The collaboration will see a series of interesting and educational leadership development webinars taking place over a period of four weeks, with the first one taking place on International Women’s Day.

The ‘Making Waves’ series will give women the opportunity to learn from the best, as expert speakers will cover a variety of relevant topics. Women in Sport Lead for Rowing Ireland Claire Lambe outlines;

“Rowing Ireland are delighted to partner with Triathlon Ireland to offer this webinar series, Making Waves, to the women at the forefront of our sports. The aim of the workshops is to give women the opportunity to learn from the best in their field in the areas of communication, mentoring, resilience and governance – empowering women to take roles of leadership in their clubs and sport. This initiative is in line with our long term goal to achieve gender balance in all aspects of rowing in Ireland.”

Leadership development is also an important area for the Triathlon Ireland Women in Sport Strategy, as Anna Grealish of Triathlon Ireland explains, it is also central to the webinar series;

“Our ‘Beyond the Finish Line’ Women in Sport Strategy looks at all areas of triathlon where we can make a positive change. We want to support all areas of growth within triathlon and create opportunities for women to develop their own personal skills. Leadership development is fundamental to this. We believe in creating great role models and feel that providing support in leadership development will equip women with the skills to take on new roles within the sport.”

The series will be free and is open for all to attend, although prior registration is required. ‘Making Waves’ will be of particular interest to those looking to increase their responsibility within their club environment, joining a committee for the first time, taking on a leadership role within their club, or those looking to learn some new leadership skills for their own personal development.
