Rowing Ireland is today advising its members of two important upcoming General Meetings.

AGM – May 24 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Irish Rowing Union CLG (“Rowing Ireland”) will be held on Sunday, May 24 2026 at the Conference Centre on the Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown at 10:30am. This will be a hybrid meeting with both in-person and virtual attendance facilitated.

The meeting will focus on presentation of annual company documents as required by Company Law and is so scheduled in order to meet reporting timelines prescribed by Sport Ireland. Special resolutions from the RI Board will also be presented for consideration.

As per the Constitution – the AGM agenda detailing the business of the meeting and relevant papers will be distributed to members not less than 21 days before the meeting – on or before Friday 1 May 2026.

EGM – July 5 2026

Notice is hereby given that an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the Irish Rowing Union CLG (“Rowing Ireland”) will be held on Sunday July 5 at a venue and in a format to be advised. The meeting will focus on consideration of proposed rule changes by member clubs and confirmation of the 2027 Events Calendar. As is customary, it is envisaged a calendar meeting facilitated by the Domestic Events Committee will be held prior to the EGM.

The EGM agenda detailing the business of the meeting and relevant papers will be distributed to members not less than 21 days before the meeting – on or before Friday 12 June 2026.

Member clubs are reminded that, as per Section 34 of the Constitution, motions from clubs must be received by Rowing Ireland not less than 60 days before a General Meeting. This EGM is being facilitated on this schedule to provide clubs with the opportunity to make these proposals – given the 2026 AGM scheduled for 24 May will occur too soon to meet this requirement. 

Member clubs are asked to provide any proposed motions to Rowing Ireland by COB on Tuesday 5 May 2026 in order for them to be received in good time and receive the necessary examination and analysis by the relevant committees and Board of RI, such that they may be included on the EGM agenda.
